Guilty as charged. I played hooky this afternoon. Too nice a day not to. Plus my buddy Kipton wanted to go look at cars and I knew we would see something cool to shoot for my photo du jour and I was right. Oddly enough, over the last couple days while I have not been out riding on the normal Luna road bike route, these fantastic purple poppy (I assume?) flowers have come to full bloom in the area where Luna intersects with California Crossing. My comment was that I could pull out the wide angle lens and grab a shot of the blanket of delicate purple flowers in front of the Army National Guard Reserve Base there at the corner with various tanks and other military equipment in full view, but as we pulled over, this patch under a giant oak tree caught my eye because of the exceptional lighting. I knew I had the shot before I even took it.The balance of the afternoon was purely hooky. Driving around, looking at cars, and shooting the shit about a lot of nothing. Quite enjoyable and definintely a good way to recharge the battery from time to time. Highly recommended activity.
